It has been 10 years since iTunes first began offering movies to its customers, and to celebrate, Apple is offering bundles of 10 films for $10. Not all of the movies are gems, but every bundle looks to have enough decent picks included to make it well worth the $10 asking price.
The deal, which run for today, Monday, September 12 only, (and only in the U.S.) offers movie bundles from Warner Bros., Universal, Paramount, Lionsgate, and Sony Pictures are available for $9.99 in the U.S. Titles range from comedy, to action, to drama, and everything in between.
The Warner Brothers bundle includes such films as “Live, Die, Repeat: The Edge of Tomorrow,” “Pacific Rim,” “Magic Mike,” and The Hangover.” The Universal bundle is equally eclectic, offering such gems as “Ride Along,” “Rush,” “Knocked Up,” and “Inside Man.” The Paramount, Lionsgate, and Sony Pictures bundles also offer similarly interesting varieties of those studios’ output.
Late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs announced that films were coming to iTunes in a 2006 “It’s Showtime!” keynote address, just one short year before the iPhone debuted. The service began with just 75 films. In the address, Jobs touted that the movies could download in just 30-minutes, and that they offered “near-DVD image quality.”
There are currently more than 85,000 movies available, according to Apple’s website.
With over 85,000 movies and more than 300,000 TV shows to choose from, there’s always something great to watch on iTunes.
