Sprint on Friday announced a new tier for its Unlimited Freedom Premium plan, now offering customers unlimited HD video streaming for $80 per month. The company previously only offered a $60 per month Unlimited Freedom plan that allowed only 480p streaming for free.
Now we offer two distinct options for customers who want unlimited:
1) Unlimited Freedom – An unlimited option for $60/month with mobile optimized streaming video;
2) Unlimited Freedom Premium – An unlimited option for $80/month for those who prefer a higher quality video experience.
The new Premium plan offers customers 1080p HD video streams, game streaming up to 8Mbps and music streaming up to 1.5Mbps. The “standard” Unlimited Freedom plan offers only guaranteed 480p video streaming, game streaming up to 2Mbps, and music streaming up to 500Kbps. Sprint says the new plan includes “unlimited high speed data for most everything else.”
As a public service, Sprint supplied a handy comparison chart…
The new plans are available right now, and for a limited time, the #4 carrier is offering the new $80 per month Unlimited Freedom Premium plan for the same price as the cheaper $60 per month Freedom Unlimited plan.
