Sony on Tuesday announced their upcoming DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adapter, which will offer Mac and PC gamers the ability to wirelessly connect a DualShock 4 controller to their computers.
… This adaptor will let you connect a DualShock 4 to PC and Mac wirelessly, and will enable every feature of the controller you know and love: buttons, analog sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack – as long as the gaming application supports these features.
Currently, while Mac gamers can connect the DualShock 4 controller to their machine via Bluetooth or a USB cable, they haven’t had access to all of the controller’s functions. The adapter will also allow users to use the advanced controller to control games via PS4 Remote Play, which allows games from the PS4 to be streamed to their Mac.
Sony also announced upcoming PlayStation Now support for Windows PCs, allowing PC gamers to play PS3-exclusive titles for the first time, including entries in the Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank franchises, as well as PS3 games like The Last of Us and Journey. As far as the Mac getting access to PS Now, Sony says, “We are evaluating Mac support for PS Now, but have nothing to announce at this time.” (Well, crap! – Ed.)
The DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor launches in early September for a suggested retail price of $24.99 USD.
