Microsoft on Monday updated their suite of Office apps for the iPhone, bringing finger-drawing and highlighting support to the handset in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The update brings support for features similar to those that were added to the iPad versions of the apps back in January.
All three apps now sport a “Draw” tab, where iPhone users can access drawing tools that allow them to use a stylus or finger to write, draw, highlight, and annotate Microsoft Office documents. The tools allow users to adjust the thickness and color of the pen, and hand-drawn shapes can be transformed into custom shapes. PowerPoint users can also annotate over cells, while PowerPoint aficionados can draw freehand over slides. Those features were added to the iPad versions of the apps back in January, in order to take advantage of the iPad Pro, and its Apple Pencil stylus.

Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are all available for the iPhone in the App Store. The apps are free to download and view documents, but an Office 365 subscription is required to create and edit Office documents.
