Chinese device repair firm GeekBar has released a set of photos and a brief video that allegedly shows an iPhone 7, and the device running the device’s Camera app.
The video shows someone panning the “iPhone 7” over his MacBook and the rest of his desk with the view finder open on the device. The phone looks to be running Apple’s internal testing software SwitchBoard, rather than an actual version of iOS.
The short 25-second clip is too blurry to provide sharp look at any expected camera improvements on the device, but it does show an overall device design that appears the same as seen in previously leaked photos. (For some reason, the bottom third of the video is blurred, so we can’t get a good look at the connectors on the bottom, which seems odd…)
GeekBar also shared what appear to be photos of a fully assembled iPhone 7, which shows the device powered on and running the aforementioned SwitchBoard software. The photos were shared on Chinese microblogging service Weibo. The photos were first spotted by French website NWE.
As seen here, the device jibes with previous photos and rumors, showing the lack of a headphone jack, dual speaker grilles, and larger rear-facing camera, and repositioned antenna bands. The device still boasts a Home button, but it we can’t tell if it is a touch sensitive button as has been rumored.
As the expected debut of the new iPhone gets closer, we should be seeing more and more videos and photos like these. Pre-orders for the iPhone 7/7 Plus are expected to kickoff on Friday, September 8, and the devices are expected to start hitting the shelves on Friday, September 16.
