UPDATE: The issue developers reported downloading beta 8 has apparently been resolved. We are currently downloading the beta. We’ll let you know if we have any other issues.
Apple on Friday seeded iOS 10 Beta Eight to developers and iOS 10 Beta Eight to public beta testers for testing. The new seed comes one week following the sixth beta release of Apple’s upcoming new operating system. (Some users are reporting they are getting an “Unable to Check for Update” popup when they try to do the developer beta update. Public beta users are apparently not having any issues. We’ll keep you posted.)
Today’s new versions, are available as over-the-air updates to users who either have the seventh developer beta, the sixth public beta, or the beta configuration profile installed on their devices. The update will also soon be available to developers via the Apple Development Center.
iOS 10 offers a number of new features and interface tweaks, including a new Lock Screen that includes 3D Touch-enabled notifications, a redesigned Control Center, and a new Widgets Screen. The Lock Screen also offers easier access to the Camera.Other improvements include improved Messages features, featuring handwritten notes, background animations, effects, new more diverse emoji, and an App Store for iMessage which will offer new stickers, animations and more for use in the Messages app.
Apple’s iOS 10 beta is currently only available to developers and public beta testers. However, an official public release is due in the fall, alongside the debut of the new iPhones.
