Nest App Update Offers Apple Watch Control of Thermostat

Sure, you thought you had reached the pinnacle (nadir?) of laziness when you installed your Nest Thermostat and controlled it from your iPhone, but there’s that whole thing about having to take your iPhone out of your pocket…

The latest update to the Nest iPhone app adds Apple Watch support, so you never again have to exert yourself by reaching in your pocket for your iPhone.

What’s New in Version 5.6.0

We have several new camera features for you.

- Spaces groups your Nest products by room and lets you see all your cameras at once. And if you’re connected to Wi-Fi, shows you all of their live views.

– Share a password protected live view of your camera. Now grandma can see what the kids are up to at video.nest.com.

– 1080p support for Dropcam Pro.

– Automatic video quality adjustment helps make sure you get a continuous, clear picture.

We’ve also added support for Apple Watch. You can now control your Nest Thermostat from your wrist.

As you can see, there are also a few camera-related improvements to the app, including the ability to group your Nest products by room into “Spaces,” share a password protected “Live” stream of your nest camera, and 1080p support for the Dropcam Pro.

But, yeah… The most important update is the Apple Watch support. Now, if we could just make it so you don’t need to raise your wrist and then bring your other hand over to touch the screen…

The Nest app is free, and is available for iOS devices (and the Apple Watch), in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
