Acrosync LLC has released Duplicacy 1.0, their next-generation cross-platform cloud backup tool for Mac OS X. Duplicacy’s backup engine is based on the principal of lock-free deduplication, to allow multiple clients to backup their data to the same storage simultaneously without the need for file locks. This allows the app to work with a number of popular cloud storage services.
The app also supports data backup to local hard drives, NAS boxes, and SFTP servers, making it easy to backup user data to local storage.
Features Include:
Duplicacy can backup to a number of popular cloud storage services, including: Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure, Dropbox, and Backblaze.
While the app’s graphical user interface will prove sufficient for most users, the backup engine can also be executed from the command line, offering the flexibility to use custom scripts with the app.
While the app is free for personal use, commercial users can license the app for $2 per month per computer, which also gives them access to the app’s source code, enabling them to customize the Duplicacy engine to meet their own unique backup needs.
Duplicacy 1.0 is free for personal use, and is available through the Duplicacy website. Commercial users pay $2.00, per month per computer. A Windows version is also available for download from the Duplicacy website.
