Apple has added three new streaming apps to its fourth-generation Apple TV’s Universal Search function. The three apps added are from popular networks Comedy Central, MTV, and VH1.
For those unfamiliar with universal search, it is a feature that lets users conduct Siri voice searches or text-based searches to find TV and movie content across a wide range of apps. At launch, universal search supported only a few apps, but Apple has been adding new apps on a regular basis.
Supported channels in the United States include:
Viewers outside of the United States aren’t as well served, with Netflix and iTunes the only apps supported by Universal Search in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Most other countries currently only see support for iTunes.
