Apple Maps Now Includes Parkopedia Parking Garage and Lot Information

Apple Maps will now offer additional information about parking lots and garages via the Parkopedia database. The new information will include pricing, real-time parking spot availability, and the hours of operation.

While Parkopedia already has a popular app in the App Store that offers the company’s data to iOS users already, the integration with Apple Maps will offer the ability to view more information about available, with the option to jump to the Parkopedia app to view additional information.

Apple began offering parking information in their Maps app back in March, but offered only a bit of info, with an icon marking the spot of a parking venue, and limited information about the spot. The information now offered will be greatly enhanced.

“We’re excited to deliver detailed information on more than 40 million parking spaces in 75 countries to Apple Maps customers. This is a very important milestone for Parkopedia. Our combined footprint in the consumer and automotive space is huge and this opens the doors to delivering a world of innovative solutions,” stated Parkopedia’s Head of Marketing, Christina Onesirosan Martinez.

The Parkopedia app itself offers parking information for 75 countries, 38 million parking spots, and 150,000 facilities in over 6300 cities and towns. The app allows users to add, edit, and review parking information on their site. The app also allows users to make parking spot reservations and benefit from special offers.
