Apple Confirms Plans to Open First Taiwanese Apple Store

Apple on Friday revealed it is planning to open its first retail store on the island of Taiwan. The news comes via Apple Store employee job listings posted by the Cupertino firm, as well as a confirmation given to Reuters.

Reuters:

Apple was seeking “a leader for personnel training plans for the Taiwan Apple Store” and other retail positions indicating it was looking for a team in Taiwan, according to job postings dated Friday on Apple’s website.

The Cupertino, California-based company confirmed it had plans to open the first Apple Store in Taiwan, but provided no other details.

The move comes shortly after the iPhone maker raised $1.38 billion in a bond offering last month on the island that is home to many companies in its supply chain, including Foxconn, Largan, and TSMC.

The company hasn’t revealed exactly when the new store will open, or where it will be located. One candidate, and likely the strongest one, would be the Taiwanese capital city of Taipei.

In other Apple Store openings related news, the company announced on Thursday that its much anticipated Brooklyn Apple Store location would open on July 30.
