Apple on Tuesday released the third beta of tvOS 9.2.2 – Build 13Y823 – to developers for testing. The third beta comes two weeks after the release of the second beta. tvOS is the operating system for the fourth-generation Apple TV.
Doing an initial installation of the tvOS 9.2.2 beta requires the unit to be connected to a computer with a USB-C to USB-A cable, and the software needs to be downloaded and installed via iTunes or Apple Configurator.
Developers can also set their Apple TV up for over-the-air downloads of the beta by downloading the Configuration Profile for over-the-air updates through AppleConfigurator. Both files are available via the Apple Developer portal.
The new beta is a minor 9.x.x update, so it appears to focus on under the hood bug fixes and performance enhancements. We’ll let you know if we hear anything about any specific fixes or new features.
