A report from German-language financial website Finews indicates Apple Pay will launch in Switzerland on Monday, June 13, making it the seventh country where Apple’s contactless payments system is available.
Swiss private bank Cornèr Bank will purportedly be one of the first participating issuers in Switzerland, but the report did not specify if the country’s two “big banks” UBS and Credit Suisse will also support Apple Pay upon launch.
Apple had filed a trademark for the service with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property in February, so the debut of the payments service in Switzerland had been expected. Switzerland will be the second European country that has Apple’s mobile payments service, the first being the United Kingdom.
