“Raise to Wake,” one of the most convenient features of iOS 10, and definitely one of our favorite features so far, will be limited to iPhone models sporting a M9 motion coprocessor or newer. So far, that includes only the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus.
The new feature is proving to be very popular with iPhone 6s and 6s Plus users, as their devices sport the latest generation of Apple’s Touch ID sensor, which reacts so quickly to a fingerprint press, that users can see what notifications are on the lock screen when waking the device up via the Home Button.
The M9 is also included in both the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but Raise to Wake isn’t supported on either tablet, at least not in the first beta. While the iPad Pro lineup does make use of the older Touch ID sensor, so does the iPhone SE, which is supported by Raise to Wake.
