If your kids aged 8-12 are already bored with summer vacation, click on over to the Apple website later this morning, and sign them up for this year’s Apple Camp sessions. The free sessions are intended to help kids make creative use of technology.
9to5Mac notes this year’s three-session workshops will be focused on coding & robotics, movie-making and story-telling.
Campers can work with visual blocks and solve puzzles while programming Sphero robots. They can learn filmmaking skills: storyboarding, shooting video, and editing soundtracks. Or they can create interactive books complete with their own illustrations and sound effects. At Apple Camp, kids and their creativity are the heroes.
Each free workshop lasts for 90 minutes. Apple Camp will be available at Apple Store locations in: the United States, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK.
We don’t know the dates and times as yet, as Apple will likely post those when registration opens, which is expected to be 9AM Eastern/6AM Pacific time today, Tuesday, June 21. Sessions are free, but reservations usually go fast, so get those clicking fingers limbered up.
