While the official dates for Apple’s upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference 2016 haven’t been officially confirmed by Apple, a number of indicators point to June 13 – June 17 for the dates for annual event. Not the least of all is confirmation from Siri herself.
When asked “When is WWDC?” Siri replies with: “The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held June 13 through June 17 in San Francisco. Can’t wait!” Before today, when asked the same question, Siri would merely reply with, “WWDC is not yet announced.”
In addition to Siri, another indicator that the event will take place June 13 – 17 is the the Moscone West event calendar, which shows a booking for every week excepting June 13 – 17. Moscone West is Apple’s preferred venue for WWDC events.
Since Siri has confirmed the event, an official WWDC 2016 announcement should soon follow, along with a ticket lottery for the event. The immense popularity of the event causes Apple to offer each $1,599 ticket to developers based on a lottery system.
The event should kickoff with a keynote address on the 13th, where we’ll likely see iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 (macOS 1.0?) previewed. We may also see new MacBooks, along with possibly other hardware or accessories.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
