Apple is reportedly teaming with luxury fashion brand Coach to create a new line of luxury leather Watch bands which could debut as soon as June, possibly making an appearance at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
Haute Ecriture says Coach sales associates have been told the new bands are on the way. The Coach employees have been supplied with documents promoting the new Apple Watch band lineup.
I was at a Coach boutique Thursday and as I was making a purchase, a sales associate noticed my Apple Watch and told me Coach will be releasing new bands for it. She and other sale associates then said that they don’t know the date they will be released but that they could be available as early as June.
The bands, said to retail for $150, will be available in white, black, red, and brown. There will be as many as eight different bands, and the report says some have charms on them, while others were stitched.
A partnership with Coach would not be out of line for the company, as it has already forged a partnership with luxury brand Hermès to offer a special edition Apple Watch, featuring a special edition watch face, as well as fashionable leather Hermès Watch bands. Apple has recently begun to sell the bands separately from the Watch.
