Apple Pay is available in Singapore through a partnership with American Express, first announced by Apple in October of 2015. By partnering with American Express, Apple has brought Apple Pay to Singapore, Canada, and Australia and will expand it to Hong Kong and Spain later this year.

The addition of Singapore brings the number of countries where Apple Pay is available to six, including: Canada, China, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

American Express cardholders can add their credit cards to the Wallet app on their iPhone by opening the app and tapping the “+” button. it can also be added by entering the “Settings” app, tapping the “Wallet & Apple Pay” menu option, and then tapping “Add Credit or Debit Card.”

Apple Watch users will need to enter the Watch app on their iPhone, Tap on the “Wallet & Apple Pay” option, and then tap the “Add Credit or Debit Card” option.

Support for Apple contactless payment service in Singapore is currently limited to American Express, however Apple says more major credit cards from top banks is on the way, “soon.” Visa is listed as a future credit card partner for Singapore, and DBS, UOB, and Standard Chartered banks are listed as upcoming financial institutions.

A number of retailers in Singapore will support Apple Pay payments from their customers, including: Starbucks, FairPrice, StarHub, Uniqlo, TopShop, and Shaw Theaters. A number of retailers that have NFC-equipped terminals will also accept the iPhone-based payments. More partners are on the way, such as BreadTalk, Cold Storage, FoodRepublic, Giant, and more. Uber and HomeAway Asia app users will also soon be able to pay via Apple Pay.

Apple Pay payments in Singapore are currently limited to payments of $100 and under.
