Male Employee Found Dead at Apple’s Cupertino Campus (UPDATED)

UPDATE: The Apple employee found dead at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino on Wednesday has reportedly been identified as a 25-year-old software engineer.  The Santa Clara Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the employee’s death a suicide. The information comes from ABC News reporter Matt Keller. (Via AI)

NBCBay Area reports an investigation is underway after a body was discovered at Apple’s Corporate Headquarters at One Infinite Loop, in Cupertino, California.

The body of the male employee was reportedly found in a conference room around 8:35AM Wednesday morning. No suspects are being sought and no one is in danger, sheriff’s officials said. The campus has remained open.

Santa Clara Fire Department crews were called to the campus, but were then waived off, and never entered the facility. Apple has not responded when asked for comment.

While initial reports (TMZ) pointed to two individuals being involved, the dead man, and a female employee who had sustained a head wound. Reports now indicate the person found dead was a Hispanic male who worked at Apple, and there was no one else involved. At this point it isn’t clear why officers initially said there was a female with a head wound in the dispatch audio.

We’ll furnish more details right here, as we learn them.
