It’s hard to believe that one small change to the MacBook’s power adapter can make it a completely different experience, but that’s exactly what Ten One Design claims their $20 Blockhead accessory can do. And, it looks as if they just might be right!
The $20 Blockhead replaces the standard American AC prong snap-in with prongs that sit at a 90-degree angle. This allows the MacBook’s power adapter to sit flush against the wall when plugged in, instead of sticking out from the wall, as it does when using the standard prongs. This allows the MacBook’s adapter to fit into tight spaces, such as the couch shown above, and plus it’s not hanging out form the wall, where it can be easily knocked out, or even fall from the socket under it’s own weight.
Ten One Design says the Blockhead will also work with the 10W and 12W power adapters included with various models of the iPad.
While we haven’t had a chance to try the Blockhead – it’s currently only available for pre-order – we will be trying to get our hands on one to try it out. OK, cat… Take your best shot at knocking this one out of the wall…
The Blockhead is $20, and is available for pre-order at the Ten One Design website. Shipping is expected to begin in April.
