Ah, the old days of iOS Safari page search! If you wanted to find something on a page, you typed it into the address bar, then scrolled down to the bottom of the suggestions Safari would supply, and select the word you typed. With the debut of iOS 9, there’s an easier way to do it.
Searching a Web Page in Safari Under iOS 9
- On the web page you want to search, tap the share button. (It’s that little square with the arrow shooting up and out of it at the bottom of the display.)
- Find the “Find on Page” icon in the bottom row of icons. You might need to swipe left once or twice to see it, depending on the number of extensions you have installed.
- A new search field and keyboard will pop up. Enter the search term, and use the up and down arrows to jump to each instance of the term on that webpage.
Simple, yes? I found this method to be much easier to use than the old way, especially if the page you’re searching has multiple instances of the word or phrase you’re looking for on it.
