Apple CEO Tim Cook recently sat down with ABC News Tonight anchor David Muir to discuss Apple’s ongoing dispute with the FBI. In the interview, which airs tonight, Cook talks about the reasons Apple is fighting the court order requiring it to help the FBI break into the iPhone 5c used by Syed Farook, one of the shooters in last December’s San Bernardino massacre.
Apple and the U.S. Department of Justice have been engaged in a war of wills and words over the FBI’s request to have Apple help it break the passcode on the iPhone in question. Apple has refused to do so, saying it would set a dangerous precedent, leading to the government being able to use a similar technique on the devices of any private American citizen.
The interview will air on Wednesday, February 24 on “World News Tonight with David Muir” (6:30-7:00 p.m. EST).
