Images said to depict a screen assembly for the upcoming 4-inch “iPhone SE,” appear to confirm the new device – widely expected to launch in mid-March – will not include the 3D Touch feature found on Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus handsets.
The leaked photos, the first leaked photos of what are alleged to be iPhone SE parts that we can recall, were shared by Nowhereelse.fr, who says the images were captured by a source that on “several occasions in the past proved to be reliable”.
The indication that the new, smaller handset will not include 3D Touch is consistent with previous rumors that indicate while the new device will include an A9 processor, the same one powering Apple’s current flagship handsets, and will also boast Live Photos support, it will debut sans 3D Touch, which is being maintained as a headline feature for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus flagship devices.
