Apple announced earlier this month that Apple Pay is now accepted at over 2 million locations in the United States. While that number sounds huge, it is but a small fraction of the actual number of retailers in the country. However, the situation continues to improve, as new merchants, including Au Bon Pain, Crate & Barrel, Chick-fil-A, JCPenney, Starbucks, and KFC, are coming on board in 2016.
Apple Pay expanded to the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada in 2015, andApple is set to expand the service to China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Spain in 2016.
