Apple on Monday released tvOS 9.1.1 for the fourth-generation Apple TV, the third tvOS update since the new set-top streaming box was released last fall. The update includes a new Podcasts app, as well as the usual bug fixes and performance updates.
The 9.1.1 update can be downloaded to fourth-generation Apple TV units via the Settings app. Once the Settings app loads, go to “System” -> “Software Update.” Users’ whose devices have automatic updates enabled will see their Apple TV’s automatically upgraded to tvOS 9.1.1.
The next version of tvOS, version 9.2, is currently in beta testing by developers, and will bring:
- Bluetooth Keyboard support
- Folders support for grouping apps on Home screen
- MapKit support
- Siri support for US Spanish (in US only) and French Canadian (in Canada only)
- Siri support for UK English, Australian English and US English available across the UK, Australian and US Storefronts when English is set as the system language
- Updated App Switcher UI
