iOS 9.2.1 Hits iOS Devices – New Release Includes Bug Fixes, Security Updates

Apple released iOS 9.2.1 to an eagerly awaiting public on Tuesday. The update is the first released for iOS 9.2 since its initial release in December 2015, and is the fifth update overall for Apple’s latest mobile operating system, which was released in September 2015.

The update is available to all iOS 9 users as an over the air update. Users can initiate the update by going to “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update.”

Today’s update is a minor one, containing under the hood improvements such as performance boosts security improvements, and bug fixes.

This update contains security updates and bug fixes including a fix for an issue that could prevent the completion of app installation when using an MDM server.

iOS 9.3 is currently in testing by developers and public beta testers. The update, due to be released in the spring, contains a number of new features, including a new Night Shift feature to cut down on user’s exposure to blue light before bed time, new educational, multi-user features, and new 3D Touch quick actions for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users. Also included are improvements for default apps, such as Notes, Health, CarPlay, and more.
