CES 2016: Griffin Debuts New Apple Watch Bands and Travel Power Bank

Griffin has had a busy day, with a Breakaway power cable for the MacBook that fixes that whole “no breakaway magnetic cable because USB-C” thing. Now the company has unveiled a nice assortment of Apple Watch bands, as well as a compact charger for the popular wearable device.

Travel Power Bank

The Travel Power Bank is designed to be a travel charging solution for your Apple Watch, and it is small enough to attach to your key chain. The device sports a built-in 800mAh battery, which Griffin says can provide up to 4 full charges for the Watch before it needs to be charged via the included micro-USB cable.

Be prepared to pay dearly for the convenience and portability of the Travel Power Bank, as it will retail for $69.99 when it becomes available in the second quarter of 2016.

Uptown Leather Band

Griffin also announced two new sets of bands for the Apple Watch, both debuting sometime in the third quarter of 2016.

The Uptown Leather Band is a double-wrap band, ala the Hermés Double Tour, but with a more reasonable price. The Uptown is available in toffee, black, ecru, or seafoam, and will sport a a metal buckle to match one of the Apple Watch Stainless Steel or Apple Watch Sport colors.

The Uptown Leather Band is only available for the 38mm Apple Watch and is adjustable for wrists between 5.1 and 7 inches. The Uptown Leather Band will retail for $59.99.

Trainer Watch Band

The Trainer Watch Band will go for $39.99, and is constructed of silicone, so it’ll stand up to those sweaty wrists of yours while you’re working out. The Trainer will be available in red, blue, black, and white, and is designed to fit the 42mm Apple Watch, adjustable for wrists sized from 5.9 to 8.6 inches.

The Trainer Watch band sports silver lugs, and a brushed stainless steel buckle. Griffin says a notched post at the end of the band secures the extra length, ensuring it won’t slip off your aforementioned sweaty wrists when you’re in the zone.

Griffin will announce specific release dates for all of the above sometime soon.
