Apple had a busy day on Monday, releasing the initial betas for iOS 9.3, OS X 10.11.4, watchOS 2.2, and tvOS 9.2. Somewhere in all of that, they also announced an update to their App Analytics tool, which now lets developers measure the engagement and monetization of their tvOS apps.
You can now measure user engagement and monetization for your tvOS apps in App Analytics. In addition to seeing data on product page views, downloads, and engagement, you can also see how many iOS users acquired with your marketing campaigns opened the same app on Apple TV.
In addition to offering a per-app breakdown of product page views, downloads, and engagement, developers can also view sessions, active devices, retention, crashes and in-app purchases. Apple has offered the same data for iOS and Mac apps sold in the App Stores since a limited beta last April. The trial opened to all developers two weekes later, and exited beta in June.
Developers can also view how their cross-platform marketing is doing, as they can see how many users who downloaded an iOS version of an app also ran the same app on their Apple TV. This is important to many developers as they have ported their iOS apps over to the big screen.
