It was a busy day for Apple’s update machine, with updates that included iOS 9.2, tvOS 9.1, and OS X 10.11.2. Not to be left out in the frenzy was the Apple Watch, which received watchOS 2.1 as an early Christmas present. The new update offers improved language support, and a number of bug fixes.
Apple Watch users must first update their iPhone to iOS 9.2, and then open the Apple Watch app. To download the watchOS 2.1 update via the Watch app, go to: “General” -> “Software Update.” To perform the update, your Apple Watch must be connected to its charger, have at least 50% battery left, and must be in the range of the iPhone.
The update includes system language support for Arabic, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Malay, Portuguese, and Vietnamese, plus expanded dictation and Siri support for several languages. A number of bug fixes designed to improve the Apple Watch’s performance are also included in the update, including fixes for Power Reserve Mode, the Calendar, third-party apps and more.
