iOS 9 brought a great number of features to the iPhone, especially to Apple’s flagship iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices. One of the coolest features on the new handsets is 3D Touch.
While users have always been able to access the iOS app switcher to quickly shuffle back and forth between recent apps, you’ve always had to access it via a double-click on the Home Button. With 3D Touch, you can quickly access the app switcher without ever taking your thumb off of the screen.
To Access App Switcher on an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus:
- Press firmly on the left side of your device’s screen.
- While holding down, swipe a bit to the right and let go to bring up the fast app switcher.
- If you want to return to the most recent app, just swipe all the way to the right to go back to the previous app. (Like swiping in Safari to return to a previous web page.)
Using this tip, you can easily swipe through your recently used apps to find the one you want, without trying to hit that little “Back to…” link in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
