Apple continues to refresh its corporate website, as Wednesday saw the Cupertino firm launch a redesigned Mac in Business webpage. The revamped section, headlined “A Brand New Day in Business,” highlights the Mac’s growing presence in the enterprise, offers a section with information about its partnership with IBM, and more.
“Organizations everywhere are realizing the potential that Mac brings to their employees by giving them the freedom to use the tools they already know and love.”
The refreshed site offers updated information about Apple’s Mac lineup, and OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The old website offered dated material, still referencing “Yosemite” in various spots in the copy.
The page highlights Apple’s partnership with IBM, noting that the company currently has over 130,000 Mac being used in-house. If IBM follows its current Mac rollout plan, they will have deployed between 150,000 to 200,000 Macs by the end of the program.
Fletcher Previn, VP of Workplace as a Service at IBM is quoted on the site as saying: “Between lower support costs and higher residual values, every Mac we deploy makes and saves money for IBM.” It was recently reported that every Mac the company rolls out to employees saves Big Blue an average of $270 per machine over similar Windows machines in deployment and security costs.
Apple’s new Mac in Business page also promotes the computer’s compatibility with iOS devices, its hardware and software benefits, OS X platform features, and its ease of deployment.
Apple’s new website is part of the Cupertino firm’s continuing effort to expand beyond a consumer market that many analysts consider to be saturated. In an interview last September, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that enterprise sales have brought in $25 billion in the 12 months prior to his statement.
