A new Experts Exchange survey indicates that Siri users are the most satisfied from a group of respondents that used Apple’s virtual assistant, Google Now, and Microsoft’s Cortana.
A survey in which Siri, Google Now and Cortana users were asked to rate their satisfaction with their respective intelligent assistants found that Siri got the highest scores, with 81% of users declaring themselves satisfied compared to 68% for Google Now and just 57% for Cortana.
Participants were asked to carry out seven different requests and then report on how well the service performed, and how many times they were asked follow-up questions. Siri provided the lowest number of incorrect answers, while asking the fewest follow-up questions before performing the task or answering the question.
Respondents were asked to do the following:
- Ask their phone to set an appointment
- Ask, “how many calories are in a muffin?”
- Send a text message
- Turn Wi-Fi setting to on
- Ask, “When does Kung Fu Panda 3 come out?”
- Ask, “Where can I buy tires?”
- Ask, “Who won the Super Bowl in 1978?”
Siri did best of the three assistants when setting an appointment, but scored lowest on the ever-important “When does Kung Fu Panda 3 come out?” (We’re all dying to know!)
