Apple continues to expand their in-store Personal Pickup service around the globe, as they launched the service in Australia and Canada earlier this week, and now comes news that the service is now available in the United Kingdom.
Personal Pickup allows Apple online customers to order their merchandise in the Apple Online Store or Apple Store app, and then pick it up at their nearby Apple Store within an hour or so.
“With Personal Pickup, you can place your order on the Apple Online Store or the Apple Store app, then pick it up at any Apple Retail Store. We’ll even set up your new Apple product just the way you like — before you leave the store.”
MacRumors notes Personal Pickup has been available in the United States since 2011, but only this week has Apple begun to roll it out internationally. Customers can order several Apple products for Personal Pickup, including Macs, iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs and the Apple Watch. Once the items are ordered, Apple notifies the customer via email or text message when the order is ready for pickup. Customers must supply a valid photo ID in order to claim the order.
