If you’re on the Apple Online Store pre-ordering the new Apple TV, you might want to take a look at the new Beats Pill+ Bluetooth speaker, now available for $229, in any color you want, as long as it’s black or white.
The new portable Bluetooth speaker is the first new design to come out of Beats since Apple bought the headphones and speaker company last for $3 billion last year in part to use its Beats Music service as the foundation for Apple Music. The rechargeable speaker uses a Lightning port and cable, the same as iPhones, to power up for up to 12 hours of use.
An upcoming app, soon to be available for both iOS and Android devices, will let users control what music plays next, as well as adjust the sound preferences. The Pill+ also supports the pairing of two units to allow for stereo playback.
The Pill+ also offers a USB port that allows users to charge their smartphone from the Pill’s built-in battery. The Pill+ only supports Bluetooth. The speaker is available on the Apple Online Store, with other retailers soon to follow. The speaker includes a Beats-branded Lightning cable, as well as a 12.5W power adapter.
