Major department store chain Target on Friday announced that the Apple Watch will begin hitting its stores this week, with all locations having the wearable device on their shelves by October 25, just in time for the start of the holiday shopping season.
Customers can begin ordering the Watch via Target’s website as of October 18. Target says the Apple Watch is “one of the season’s hottest gift items.”
The popular retailer says it will carry 20 models of the Watch, in both 38mm and 42mm sizes. Color options will include the popular Space Gray and Rose Gold color options. While “select models and bands” will be available at the bricks-and-mortar locations, an “expanded assortment” of the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport models will be available for ordering online.
While the Apple Watch was originally available via Apple’s own online and retail stores, as well as a few select high-end boutiques, the Cupertino firm has recently begun expanding availability of the Watch, selling it at Best Buy, T-Mobile, and Sprint in the United States, as well as expanding it to a number of department stores in the United Kingdom.
