Apple Stores to Have New Apple TV Available on Friday

The fourth-generation Apple TV has been available for pre-order since earlier this week, and some buyers will see it show up on their doorstep beginning tomorrow. Now comes word that the new streaming box will also be available in Apple Retail Stores beginning Friday.

9to5Mac:

… Now, we’ve learned that Apple is planning to begin selling the new set-top-box at its retail stores this Friday. Apple retail employees say that stores are beginning to receive shipments to sell at the end of this week, while stores will be re-organized overnight on Thursday to promote the new Apple TV in stores on Friday.

The new Apple TV will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage configurations, and will cost $149 and $199, respectively. The new box sports a faster A8 processor, a touch-based motion-sensing remote, Siri control with Universal Search, and a new operating system called tvOS, which brings a much longed for App Store to Apple’s little black box.

In addition to ordering or picking up the Apple TV from Apple, buyers can also pre-order from Best Buy, B&H, and other retailers. Best Buy is offering both models, with in-store availability expected for November 4th.
