Verizon to Offer iPhone-Only Yearly Device Upgrades

Verizon is joining in the yearly upgrade mania. The wireless carrier announced on Thursday that it will offer its customers annual iPhone upgrades when they purchase a new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus beginning Friday, September 25th.

Verizon:

If you purchase either the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus with Verizon’s Device Payment option beginning Friday, September 25, you’ll be eligible to get a new iPhone every year.  Yes, no more waiting for your contract to end.  Now you can always have the latest iPhone – on the network that has the largest 4G LTE coverage in America.

The company’s press release assures customers if they’ve pre-ordered an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, they’re automatically enrolled in this program if they’ve elected the Device Payment option. If the customers prefer to pay off the phone in the normal two-year payment plan are welcome to do so.

Verizon’s announcement comes on the heels of other carriers announcements to allow annual upgrades for the iPhone. Apple has even introduced a yearly upgrade plan of their own.

It should be noted that the new Verizon plan is iPhone-only, and customers with other handsets are not eligible for the plan.
