The three subscribers of the EPIX movie channel will be happy to know that the premium cable network will soon allow users to download a number of movies and television shows to their iPhones and iPads.
The network has revealed that it will add this feature to the iOS app later this month for users who want to watch their selection of content without the need for a constant Internet connection.
EPIX offers both current and classic movies from such sources as Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM. The channel also offers documentaries and comedy specials form a number of sources.
The official word from EPIX goes like this:
The new download feature will offer EPIX’s biggest titles on demand, including hit movie franchises The Hunger Games, James Bond, and Star Trek, original documentaries and music and comedy events featuring marquee talent including Katy Perry, Craig Ferguson, Louis CK, Mark Maron and more.
The downloading feature will also be available to users of Kindle Fire and Android devices. The new feature will be available across all devices later this month.
As a side note, EPIX content, which had been available on Netflix, will disappear from that service at the end of September, and will move to the Hulu streaming service in October. So there’s that.
The EPIX iOS app is available FREE in the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. [GET IT HERE]
