Pop star Ellie Goulding will be the opening act for the 2015 Apple Music Festival on September 19, it was announced today. Country songbird Carrie Underwood and rockers Mumford and Sons have also been added to the roster, performing September 21 and September 27 respectively.
The full lineup for the 2015 Apple Music Festival is as follows:
- September 19: Ellie Goulding
- September 20: Take That
- September 21: Carrie Underwood
- September 22: One Direction
- September 23: The Weeknd
- September 24: The Chemical Brothers
- September 25: Disclosure
- September 26: Pharrell Williams
- September 27: Mumford & Sons
- September 28: Florence + The Machine
Special guests that have been confirmed include: Little Mix, NAO, Lion Babe, Leon Bridges, Jack Garrett and James Bay. The remaining special guests will be announced in the near future.
Apple will broadcast the performances to music fans for free, with viewing available both live and on-demand on Apple Music. Apple will also offer coverage of the festival on Beats1, along with backstage news and footage straight from the artists via Apple Music Connect.
Apple hosted the iTunes Festival in London for eight years, and now has renamed the event the Apple Music Festival in honor of the launch of Apple Music. The Apple Music Festival can be enjoyed via Apple Music or iTunes on the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or via Apple TV.
