Credit card issuer Discover debuted support for Apple Pay on Wednesday, for iPhone users who are running iOS 9. Discover cardholders will now be able to take advantage of Apple’s contactless payments system.
As an incentive for card holders to give Apple Pay a try, Discover is offering a 10% Cashback Bonus to customers who use their cards through Apple Pay through the end of 2015. Cashback Bonuses are available on up to $10,000 of in-store purchases. Discover it Miles, Miles, and Escape cardmembers will earn an extra 10 miles per dollar on up to $10,000 of in-store purchases.
Discover notes in their press release that members who wish to use their cards with Apple Pay will need to update to iOS 9, and then add their Discover card to the newly renamed Wallet app. (Formerly known as Passbook.)
Discover finally joining the Apple Pay party means all four of the major credit card issuers are now on board, as MasterCard, Visa, and American Express have all been on board since the service’s October 2014 launch.
