If you’re getting your new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus on Friday, one of the first things you’ll want to do after getting it activated is install iOS 9.0.1. Apple today released a version of the new update which offers support for the new handsets.
Apple released iOS 9.0.1 for its other iOS devices on Wednesday, but it turns out that version apparently wasn’t “6s” ready. Customers who get the new handsets tomorrow, will need to upgrade, as the new handsets presumably ship with iOS 9.0 installed.
The iOS 9.0.1 (Build 13A405) update contains bug fixes including:
- Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
- Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
- Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
- Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data
The update is available over-the-air on iOS devices running iOS 9. Go to: “Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update” to begin the update process. Apple also released a second beta of iOS 9.1 to developers yesterday.
