Earlier this month, Tim Cook visited the “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, where he said of the upcoming Aaron Sorkin-penned “Steve Jobs” film, “I think a lot of people are trying to be opportunistic and I hate this, it’s not a great part of our world.”
Aaron Sorkin then fired back with the left-jab of: “… if you’ve got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour you’ve got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic.”
Sorkin has since backed off from his comments a bit, as during an interview with E! News, said:
“You know what, I think that Tim Cook and I probably both went a little too far. And I apologize to Tim Cook. I hope when he sees the movie, he enjoys it as much as I enjoy his products.”
There has been no reply as yet from Tim Cook.
Sorkin’s Steve Jobs film is set to premiere next month, and has already generated Oscar buzz about a possible Best Actor nomination for Michael Fassbender, who stars as Jobs.
The movie is based on the best-selling Walter Isaacson biography, a book which Cook has said is not about the Steve Jobs he knew, saying, “The person I read about there is somebody I would never have wanted to work with over all this time.”
