Apple on Thursday announced a new partnership with credit card reader company PayAnywhere to offer Apple Pay to the 300,000 U.S. users who use the PayAnywhere system to accept payments.
As part of the partnership, the latest version of the PayAnywhere reader will also be sold in all Apple Stores beginning this September for $39.95.
In addition to Apple Pay, the PayAnywhere Mobile Reader will accept a variety of other contactless NFC payment solutions, as well as traditional magnetic strip credit cards, and is also EMV-capable. To entice merchants into purchasing the new reader, PayAnywhere is offering them $5,000 of free Apple Pay transaction processing.
PayAnywhere’s Mobile Reader will be available in Apple Retail Store locations starting this September for $39.95.
