Apple on Monday released the eighth beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan to developers. The Cupertino company also released the sixth beta of El Capitan to public beta testers, which is identical to the developer beta.
The update, build 15A279b, is available via the “Update” tab of the Mac App Store, and via download form the Apple Developer Center. It isn’t known at this time if there are any major updates in the new beta. It is likely under the hood changes and bug fixes, as the release date for OS X El Capitan grows ever near. We’ll let you know if we hear any news of any major changes.
The release of El Capitan is intended as a refinement of OS X Yosemite, although it also offers new features, including Split View, a tweaked Mission Control, improved built-in apps, and other minor tweaks.
OS X 10.11 El Capitan is currently only available for download to registered developers and public beta testers. The new Mac operating system is scheduled for release to the public in the fall.
