As expected, Apple has gotten rid of all of the iPad 2-based Smart Signs in their retail stores in favor of a new “Pricing” app that will run on all of the demo iOS devices and Macs displayed in the store.
…The app lets users compare models, check accessories and review product specs related to the current product they are using.
The Mac version of the Pricing app adds a floating window to the OS X Desktop, which allows customers to click to compare various models as well as learn more information. Customers can also ask for personal assistance from an Apple employee via the app.
The iOS version of the Pricing app sports an icon that resembles an Apple Store employee badge, and offers pricing comparisons, and more information about the devices. 9to5Mac notes the app will not be available outside of the Apple Store, and will remain an in-store tool used to offer customers more information about Apple products.
As always, any users interested in finding out more about Apple products, but are unable to visit a retail location, can find out more on Apple.com, or via the Apple Store app, available in the App Store.
