YouTube for iOS Updated: Adds Support for Full Screen Vertical Videos

Google has updated their YouTube app for iOS, adding the ability to view videos filmed vertically at full screen, when your device is in portrait mode.

What’s New in Version 10.28

Thanks for using YouTube. We’re always making improvements and fixes to our app, bringing you updates to the App Store every few weeks. In this version, we’ve added support for fullscreen playback of vertical videos.

While the app will now offer viewing of vertical videos at full screen in portrait mode, if your device is in landscape mode, you’ll still see letterboxing on either side of the video.

The update also adds the ability to turn on notifications for specific channels via the app. If the feature is enabled, you’ll receive a push notification to your device when a favorite YouTube member uploads new content.

YouTube for iOS is available FREE in the App Store. [GET IT HERE]
