Apple Stores to Offer Third-Party Accessories in Apple-Designed Boxes

Apple is planning to debut a number of third-party accessories in co-designed packaging in its retail stores. 9to5Mac reports the company has been working with several third-party manufacturers on their packaging design, creating packaging that will fit in better with the packaging of the iPhone-maker’s own products in their retail stores.

Companies that will be selling their products in simple, white, no-frills packages include: Tech21, Sena, Incase, Mophie, Logitech, and Life Proof.

9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman says the packaging will be mostly white to match the Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch boxes, with simpler fonts, new photography, higher-quality packaging materials, and more consistent labeling.

Apple’s new head of retail, Angela Ahrendts, has been working to revamp the retail store experience, looking for ways to streamline the buying process, while also working to improve product discovery and the customer/employee interaction process.
