Apple will begin training its UK retail staff on Apple Pay on July 12th. The company has begun enabling its point of sale terminals in England’s Apple Stores to accept NFC payments, and has been preparing promotional materials.

Apple Pay’s UK launch was announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2015) back in June. The launch will mark the first leg of an international expansion of the Apple Pay payments service. At launch, the service will be limited to a £20 cap per transaction, just as all contactless payments are. That limit is expected to be raised sometime in the fall.
