Radio Tab With Beats 1 Demo Shows Up on iOS 8.4 and iOS 9 Betas

There’s a little under two weeks to go until the official launch of Apple Music, and the service is beginning to show up in iOS 8.4 and iOS 9 betas, with the latest appearance including a Radio tab in the Music app, which includes a Beats 1 demo.

MacRumors:

The new Radio tab and Beats 1 pre-recording have gone live for users in the United States, Canada, Germany, Norway, United Kingdom and select other countries, although it remains unclear if all features of Apple Music will be available worldwide on June 30. The search feature in the Radio tab is working as of now for some users, but Beats 1 and other playlists cannot be listened to yet.

MacRumors notes that the curated playlists cover a wide selection of genres, including classic, indie, pop-hits, all-city, francophone hits and charting music. If you tap on an individual song, you’ll see the Apple Music subscription prompt that began appearing earlier this month.

Apple Music debuted last week at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The new service will offer streaming music, a live 24-hour global “radio station,” and Apple Connect, a social platform to allow artist to connect with fans. The service goes live June 30, and will cost $9.99 per month for a single user subscription, and $14.99 for a family plan that allows up to 6 family listeners. iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC users will receive a free three month trial to get them hooked. Apple TV and Android versions of the service will be available in the fall.
