Tim Cook 2015 Lunch Charity Auction Ends – Earns $200K for RFK Center

Lunch with Apple CEO Tim Cook continues to get cheaper, maybe some day even a writer for MacTrast will be able to afford the tab. Cook’s third annual CharityBuzz auction ended Wednesday afternoon, earning $200,000 for the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.

MacRumors:

The auction, which had more than 20 bids, includes a one hour lunch date with Tim Cook at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino and two VIP passes to an Apple keynote event to watch Apple unveil new products.

The proceeds from the auction will go (for the third year running), to the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights, which works for “a just and peaceful world by partnering with human rights leaders, teaching social justice, and advancing corporate responsibility.”

Although $200,000 is nothing to sneeze at, the final amount was lower than the previous two auctions for a date with Cook. In 2013, the inaugural CharityBuzz auction for a coffee date with Cook brought in $610,000, while 2014’s lunch auction closed at $330,001.

The auction winner is allowed to bring one additional person along for the lunch with Cook, and the cost of the lunch is included in the price of the auction. The winner will have to pay carfare and/or airfare to Cupertino, and will also have to spring for their own lodging. The exact date and time will be scheduled later for a mutually agreeable time.

The winner will also receive two VIP tickets to an upcoming Apple event, which means they’ll likely have a shot at attending WWDC 2015, which is the next big Apple event on the calendar.
